New EVs continue to become more affordable and popular, we’re starting to see a variety of interesting options that offer EV enthusiasts a wide range of experiences. Some of them are even taking on some of our favorite nameplates. Among them, we’re expecting the 2024 debut of the Chevy Equinox EV which is expected to be one of the most affordable electric SUVs on the market. The vehicle should also qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
Besides that, we’re seeing some intriguing electric pickup trucks coming up. Earlier this year, we saw a reimagined Silverado EV that looks like a detuned Hummer. The truck will be available with up to 400 miles of range and 754 horsepower in top-spec. It will also be able to recharge in about 18 minutes with a 350-kW DC fast charger.

Another notable pickup is the Lotus Evija that’s supposed to take on Porsche’s Taycan. It’ll be the British automaker’s first EV that’s built to be an everyday car with a 102-kWh battery pack capable of 10 to 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes with 350-kW charging.
We’re also seeing some luxury brands join the EV party with the arrival of the Acura ZDX. It will ride on GM’s Ultium platform and will be available with either a single-motor rear-wheel drive powertrain that produces 335 hp or a dual-motor all-wheel drive model with 500 hp. It will be rated for 288 miles of range in its base form.
